We want Drobytsky Yar* to be not only the symbol of the terrible tragedy. It must become the symbol of human unity, the symbol of revival, the symbol of the future peace. Only in such a world, where there is no enmity, anger, prejudice, cruelty and lie, the terrors of the past war won’t repeat. The one destroyed life is the whole world. But as the Jewish tradition says “whoever saves one life, saves the entire worlds”. We can’t save those, who were killed 70 years ago. But we can remember them and prolong this memory forever. The tree is not the man, but it’s also alive. That’s why we want the Peacemakers Park in Drobytsky Yar to appear, which will be headed by the Peace Tree. To appear with the help of those, who want to take part in this opened-ended action. To appear in memory of the dead and in the name of belief of the alive in the bright future.
The opening ceremony was hold on May 26, 2013.
